The Darkness into Light walk is coming to Nenagh. It will start on the 7th of May at 4.15AM from Nenagh College on the Dromin Road. Darkness into Light and Nenagh College are proud to support Pieta House and Suicide Awareness. More details to follow.

Transition Year Trip to Achill Island
On Monday 4th April, 17 Transition year students and their teachers Ms. Carey and Mr. Kennedy embarked on a trip to Achill Island off the west coast of Ireland. They stayed at Colaiste Acla. There was a wide variety of activities including surfing, bog snorkelling, canoeing as well as historical tours of the island. After 3 fun filled days, the group returned to the mainland, tired after their adventures, but with big smiles on their faces. It was a fantastic time had by all.
Leinster Under 17 Snooker Championships
Big congratulations to Nenagh College student Jake Byrne who emerged victorious at the Leinster Under 17 Snooker Championships on Saturday 19th March in Edenderry Snooker Club. Jake proudly represented the New Institute Snooker Club in Nenagh and after stiff competition, beat his team mate Mark Gleeson 3 frames to nil in an exciting final. This was a superb achievement for both Mark Gleeson and Jake Byrne.

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2016
Congratulations to our Teachers and Students who took part in Nenagh College Seachtain na Gaeilge 2016. Seachtain na Gaeilge in Nenagh College contained a wide variety of activities to promote Irish Language and Culture. It culminated in an Irish Table Quiz for all first year classes which was a tremendous success. Well Done to our Irish Department: Ms. Quigley, Ms. Tierney, Ms. Fahy, Ms. Dennehy & Ms. Ní Chofaigh.
1916 Proclamation Day Ceremony
Nenagh College was honoured to hold the 1916 Proclamation Day Ceremony on Tuesday 15th March. 2016 is the 100 year anniversary of the Easter Rising and the reading of the Proclamation on the steps of the GPO by Commander in Chief of the Irish Forces, Padraig Pierce. Many thanks to the History Department: Ms. Murphy, Ms. Heffernan, Mr. Cox, teaching staff and students for their hard work and dedication. All across Ireland, primary and secondary schools held a flag raising ceremony of their own to mark this centenary. Many of the important items on display include a copy of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic and the Irish Tricolour Flag. 2016 is a very special year marking one of the most important milestones in our nation’s journey to independence and peace.
Fashion Show 2016
Nenagh College was delighted to hold a Fashion Show on Thursday 10th March in aid of Nenagh Horse Riding for the Disabled. A big thank you to our TY Co-ordinator Mr. Shrahan, TY models, teachers, backstage assistants and local businesses whose hard work culminated in this showcase. From wedding dresses to high quality suits and sports wear, there was a wide variety of fashion on display.
Ceili 2016
Big Congratulations to Ms. Dempsey and her TY team for organising the Nenagh College Annual Ceili 2016 for first and second year students. A special thank you to Adam Monaghan & Alex Reynolds our MC’s for their hard work. It was a fantastic experience had by all and gave our students an important insight into Irish dancing.
