BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition

All 2nd Year students and their Science teachers visited the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in the RDS, on Friday, 13th January. Students enjoyed viewing the projects on display and obtained much inspiration for their own projects in the upcoming Scifest.

Eire Ă“g and Nenagh College launch academy for hurling.

A large crowd gathered at Nenagh College on Thursday last to launch the Eire Ă“g, Nenagh College Hurling Academy, in partnership with Get Fresh, school food providers. Under the terms of the partnership, which is funded by Get Fresh, all Eire Ă“g Camogie and Hurling teams will use the facilities at Nenagh College for preparation and training.
Billy McGill, CEO of Get Fresh, outlined how happy his company are to be a partner in this venture.

Chairman of Eire Ă“g GAA club, Enda Costello outlined the club’s vision for the partnership as an opportunity to provide state of the art facilities for all the teams in the club. With expanding membership, the availability of the facilities at Nenagh College will provide much needed space to accommodate all the clubs’ teams. The Eire Ă“g senior hurlers are currently doing their pre – season training using the gym and floodlit hurling wall. Enda, and school principal, Damien Kennedy, acknowledged the role played by the Trustees of the school, Tipperary ETB, in bringing the project to fruition.

School Principal, Damien Kennedy, welcomed both Get Fresh and Eire Óg as partners in this exciting project. The sharing of facilities with Eire Óg, and other local sporting and community bodies, underpins the school’s Mission Statement of service to and partnership with the wider community. He acknowledged that this joint venture represented a huge investment in local youth and thanked Jimmy Minogue, Munster Council Development Officer, on behalf of the school for securing grant aid for the development of the facilities at the school.

He welcomed Billy McGill and acknowledged the excellent service his company are currently providing at Nenagh College, both the parent body and the students are delighted with the quality and value of the canteen service. The mutual goal of both the club and the college, addressing positive health, in all aspects, for the club members and the college students is one of the principles which will underpin this ground – breaking partnership.

Eire Ă“g hurling academy will be officially launched on Saturday 4th February @ Nenagh College.

Road Safety at Nenagh College

Nenagh College would like to thank the Road Safety Authority and Birr Motor Club for their road safety demonstrations for our TY Students. From a 3D Virtual Reality Experience, Driving Simulations, Rally Cars and Car Flipping, there was a multitude of road safety learning experiences.
