Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths (STEM), are getting a renewed and ever increasing emphasis within the education system. Ms. Gillian Morgan from Janssen Pharmaceuticals, (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson), visited Nenagh College on Monday. Gillian, an Associate Scientist in pharmaceutical development gave our Transition Year students a chronological account of her own progression through higher education into her current role. She also provided an overview of how the STEM elements shape our lives and the benefits that can be obtained from working in these environments; with a particular emphasis on Women in STEM. Following her presentation, was a lively discussion with excellent questions and inspiring answers.
