Bunratty Castle and Folk Park

The Exchange students in Nenagh College enjoyed a day in Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. They experienced how Irish life was more than a century ago, experiencing the homes, farms, churches, shops of days gone by and of course the wonderful castle. They just had enough energy left to pet the animals, which loved the attention from the students. They also found the elf ! But we won’t give the location away… 😉

Apprenticeship and Further Education and Training

On Tuesday 12 December 2023, Emma Wing (Learner Recruitment Officer) and James Heffernan (Senior Training Advisor) presented a very informative session on Apprenticeship and Further Education and Training opportunities to all Senior cycle students in Nenagh College.
James showcased some of the 67 Apprenticeship programmes available on  https://apprenticeship.ie and provided information and advice about the traditional craft and new apprenticeships that are available.

Emma showcased further education (PLC) routes and training routes on offer in Archerstown and throughout Tipperary.

The presentation highlighted the many different avenues available to students and the variety of choices that they can progress onto after they finish school.

Thank you to Emma and James for coming out to Nenagh College! #ETBCommunity

Christmas Tree Festival

This stunning Christmas tree was crafted by our talented Transition Year students and their art teacher, Ms. Knight! 🎨📚 Their tree is in situ  at St. Mary’s Church of Ireland, is a masterpiece made from upcycled religion books, a mop head, and some stylish jewelry. 📖♻️💎

French Week

As part of French Week, Transisiton Year students organised some activities for the first year students of French, including teaching a French song, a virtual tour of the sights of Paris, making a model of the Eiffel Tower using marshmallows and spaghetti, finishing off with some French cuisine from the French café. Great learning and great fun for all!
