As part of his Social Education task Brian organised and hosted a bake sale as well as a breakfast morning for the teachers of Nenagh College to fund raise for this very worthy cause.

The Lunch Bag

Nenagh College Transition Year and Leaving Cert Applied students were delighted to welcome Ger Killian, Managing Director of thelunchbag.ie as a guest speaker on local enterprise to the school.  Thank you for the excellent talk and the fine selection of Lunch Bag hot food and snacks for the students to try.

 

Ceramics Workshop

First Year Science

First Years are busy in Science this week. They are doing an Extended Experimental Investigation whereby they design and carry out experiments and analyse their conclusion. #etbexcellenceineducation #scienceexperiment

Dundrum On Ice

🕺⛸️ Nenagh College Transition Year students took on the ice at Dundrum On Ice and turned it into a winter wonderland of laughter and camaraderie. ⛄️ From wobbly first steps to impressive spins, our TY crew showcased their ice skating skills!

 

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park

The Exchange students in Nenagh College enjoyed a day in Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. They experienced how Irish life was more than a century ago, experiencing the homes, farms, churches, shops of days gone by and of course the wonderful castle. They just had enough energy left to pet the animals, which loved the attention from the students. They also found the elf ! But we won’t give the location away… 😉

 

Apprenticeship and Further Education and Training

On Tuesday 12 December 2023, Emma Wing (Learner Recruitment Officer) and James Heffernan (Senior Training Advisor) presented a very informative session on Apprenticeship and Further Education and Training opportunities to all Senior cycle students in Nenagh College.
James showcased some of the 67 Apprenticeship programmes available on  https://apprenticeship.ie and provided information and advice about the traditional craft and new apprenticeships that are available.

Emma showcased further education (PLC) routes and training routes on offer in Archerstown and throughout Tipperary.

The presentation highlighted the many different avenues available to students and the variety of choices that they can progress onto after they finish school.

Christmas Tree Festival 

This stunning Christmas tree was crafted by our talented Transition Year students and their art teacher, Ms. Knight! 🎨📚 Their tree is in situ  at St. Mary’s Church of Ireland, is a masterpiece made from upcycled religion books, a mop head, and some stylish jewelry. 📖♻️💎

French Week

As part of French Week, Transisiton Year students organised some activities for the first year students of French, including teaching a French song, a virtual tour of the sights of Paris, making a model of the Eiffel Tower using marshmallows and spaghetti, finishing off with some French cuisine from the French café. Great learning and great fun for all!
