John O Meara a 6th year Leaving Certificate Applied student completed his practical achievement task on Homelessness and organised a non-uniform day for the charity.  John O Meara and Evan Quigley visited The Simon Community in Nenagh, where John was interviewed on Tipp FM about his view on the role of The Simon Community and homelessness.
The Simon Community believes in communities of mutual support that foster hope, independence and community. They provide people who experience homelessness with a sense of identity and  promote meaningful engagement in a non judgemental way. they provide emergency accommodation, permanent housing, access to food and support services.

VEX Robotics Scrimmage

Nenagh College successfully hosted its inaugural VEX Robotics Scrimmage on Tuesday, December 19th, with the valuable presence of VEX representatives from Dell who officiated the event. The college extended a warm welcome to CBS Nenagh and Castletroy College, adding to the collaborative spirit of the occasion. This event served as excellent preparation for the upcoming Mid-West Regional Event scheduled for January 23, 2024, in Limerick.

 

The VEX team expresses gratitude to Dell for generously providing the necessary equipment to facilitate the event. Additionally, heartfelt thanks are extended to CBS Nenagh and Castletroy College for their active involvement. The collaborative efforts showcased during the scrimmage not only underscore a commitment to excellence in education but also strengthen the bonds within the educational and robotics communities.
