Over the last 5 weeks teacher and Positive Psychologist Siobhan Connolly Hogan, delivered “An Introduction to positive psychology & Sona Strengths course” to our Transition year Students. Her course enlightened our students to tap into their inner character strengths, focused on the concepts of grit, growth mindset, negativity bias and the happiness pie and flow-all of which supports good mental health but also cultivates positive wellbeing that support students in and outside of the classroom. Thank you to Siobhan for introducing students to Positive psychology which is the “scientific study of human strengths and virtues.”

Well done to Transition Year student Shane McNicholas, who was selected as ball boy for The Davis Cup tie between Ireland and Austria held in The University of Limerick over the weekend. Shane got to witness, first hand, leading tennis players from various countries playing each other. This was a great experience and achievement for Shane who is an excellent student in our school. #tippfm #nenaghguardian #TETB
This week all 3rd years took the “My Aptitude” test. It is a psychometrically based aptitude test developed with renowned Occupational Psychologist, Dr. Charles Johnson. It gives students valuable insights into the work and careers best suited to their skills and interests. And it helps teachers and parents/guardian’s understand students’ academic potential and abilities so they can better advise on next steps.
