Drop Everything and Read

This week from 1.10pm to 1.20pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, staff and students at Nenagh College will be taking part in the ā€˜Drop Everything and Read’ Initiative. Students are invited to bring in books, magazines or newspapers of their choice to read for 10 minutes. Students can also borrow a book from the school library which will be open at break times.Ā We believe that developing a love for reading will help foster student’s imagination, creativity and confidence. Reading helps expand our use of vocabulary and language skills in all subjects.Ā It is a simple form of stress reduction and escapism which can help to improve mental health.Ā This shared experience will promote a thirst for knowledge and develop an interest in different cultures and experiences in both fiction and non-fiction.
