First year trip to millennium cross

On Monday 11th April, first year students and their teachers from Nenagh College challenged the Millennium Cross hike. Located 6km along the Portroe Road outside of Ballina, the 2.4km track passes through open bog land and steep inclines. The track bring you to the site of the Millennium Cross, erected in 2006. At the summit were breathtaking views of Lough Derg. Our first year students had a fantastic time and thank you to our teachers Mr. Heffernan, Ms. Heffernan, Ms. Maharaj, Mr. Shrahan and Mr. Quinn for organising the event. This walk was completed as part of the 1st Year Wellbeing program which combines aspects of PE and SPHE to promote wellbeing strategies and positive mental health. By promoting school wide awareness of the challenges involved with maintaining positive mental health, Nenagh College seeks to help every student reach his/her potential.
