County Final Cookery Competition

Kayleigh and Angela achieved great success in the TY County Final Cookery Competition held in Archerstown, Thurles on Thursday 30th of January. The girls dedicated several weeks to practicing and perfecting their dishes. Despite the fierce competition, their hard work paid off, and they secured third place in the event.

They had to incorporate as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. They researched a variety of locally grown and produced products, along with ingredients from their polytunnel, to create their menu. They prepared homemade lasagne with chunky chips and a zesty slaw, followed by a Swiss roll with fresh strawberries and cream.

Thanks to their teacher, Nichola Carey, for her unwavering support and guidance throughout the process. Her encouragement and expertise were instrumental in Kayleigh and Angela’s success.

Thanks to Fergal, Rita, Helen and their teams in Archerstown for facilitating the Competition and best of luck to the winners who will be representing Tipperary in the All Ireland in Cavan.
