School Trip to Krakow 3rd–6th February 2017

This year’s school trip was to the beautiful and historic city of Krakow, Poland. This medieval European city also contains the story of Europe’s darkest history, with some of the worst atrocities of World War 2 being carried out in and around the city. As a result the trip was both enjoyable and educational, but at the same time somber to bear witness to this tragic past. Thirty students from TY and 5th year travelled, along with four teachers, and all were kept busy over the four days of the trip. Among the many activities the group enjoyed were trips to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Salt mines and Schindler’s factory as well as a walking tour of the historic city, ice-skating, bowling and a water park. At the end of each day everyone was ready for a good night’s sleep. Both students and teachers had a very enjoyable trip, with the teachers having nothing but praise for each and every one of the students. Now the planning must begin for next years trip!
